Training Services
The rapidly evolving environmental programs that focus on minimizing our carbon and environmental footprints and implementing more sustainable practices have increased the demand for environmental professionals who not only have scientific and technical skills, but who also offer a strong foundational understanding of the legal, regulatory, and policy framework that drives these new requirements. Redhorse has compiled a team of instructors who will help your organization build this foundation. Our teaching philosophy, our capabilities, the training topics, and the qualifications of the Redhorse team of instructors are presented below.
Capabilities
- Assessing individual and organizational needs through structured interviews and organizational evaluations, considering current and future requirements
- Developing customized training that is tailored to the skill and experience levels of the audience and that integrates specific organizational requirements
- Presenting off-the-shelf courses from the clients’ libraries or directly available in our existing library of course materials
- Delivering all aspects of a training course, including managing all logistics through our teaming partners — registration, venue, certificates, and evaluations, preparing training materials (manuals, electronic reference documents, and presentation aids), and providing experienced teams of instructors
Philosophy
We believe understanding why and how programs come about provides a much stronger foundation for the student than just explaining "what to do." In addition, we believe teaching theory is important — but that presenting theory coupled with real-world applications based on the instructor’s experience accelerates the student’s understanding of the theory.
Topics
Redhorse instructors have delivered numerous courses covering the broad spectrum of environmental regulatory programs dealing with waste management and site remediation, community right-to-know programs, and multi-media audits and inspections. Our instructors have developed and delivered training on sustainable practices, including pollution prevention, environmental management systems, energy efficiency, and climate change. Courses have varied in length and duration from 4 hours to 5 days and have been presented to audiences ranging in size from four participants to more than 100 attendees. Many of the courses presented by the instructors have been sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for delivery throughout the U.S.
