Solar Millenium AG. - California Environmental Quality Act Support

Solar Millennium and Southern California Edison have proposed three large solar thermal power plants in southern California. A key staff member for Redhorse was part of a large group of ecologists performing special-status species surveys on the proposed energy sites.  Surveys included rare plants, the desert tortoise, breeding birds, and burrowing owls. The 7,500-acre Ridgecrest site was surveyed for burrowing owls using the California Department of Fish and Game protocols after the desert tortoise surveys.  Additionally, surveys were conducted encompassing a 500-foot buffer of the 7,500-acre site.  Numerous other special-status species were encountered and documented during the 3-month-long survey window.
