Resource Efficiency Management (REM) services to the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S Army – Pacific Region

Redhorse is providing full-time, on-site energy experts to develop and implement comprehensive energy management programs.  These on-site energy “champions” are providing region-wide energy program support across multiple facilities and installations.  The goals of the REM programs are to reduce energy, solid waste, water, and sewer costs; establish highly visible energy and resource conservation programs through awareness campaigns and training; build strong energy policies within the organizations; and comply with federal energy management goals and requirements.  Some of the energy initiatives and activities pursued include wastewater treatment, water recycling, and renewable energy projects at Fort Shafter in Hawaii, advanced metering and demand response opportunities at Army installations in Alaska, and energy and water audits and development of alternative financing projects using the Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) and Utility Energy Service Contract (UESC) mechanisms for the U.S. Coast Guard in the Gulf Coast region.  Other services provided include strategic planning, resource accounting, LEED consulting, GHG management, and grant and rebate application preparation.
