Development and Installation of Radio Sites

Redhorse is developing and installing six radio sites along the transmission tower path for a new high voltage power line project.  The project is one of the first new transmission investments intended to access renewable energy from the southeastern portion of California.  The transmission line will cover more than 120 miles from San Diego to the Sonoran Desert and will pass through remote and environmentally sensitive regions.  Redhorse is providing a complete power solution to support the communication infrastructure needs of the project.  Our support includes design, development, and deployment of a self-contained renewable energy generation system, power storage, and power conditioning equipment to meet the remote and environmentally sensitive requirements of the project.  The self-contained system is being deployed in a modified shipping container with a fold-out photovoltaic array, wind turbine, and communication tower.  The power storage, power conditioning, communications equipment, and HVAC system are included in the shipping container.  The containers and all enclosures inside the containers are rated for protected outside use and are equipped with alarm sensing contacts and serial data inputs to the utility-supplied Motorola Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (MOSCAD) system.
