Century Aluminum - Permitting Support
Redhorse was part of a team that completed a comprehensive Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) permit application for a Century Aluminum primary aluminum production facility.The permitting team also successfully negotiated permit conditions associated with expanded production line operations.The permitting process involved development of an air emission inventory, air dispersion modeling analysis, and regulatory analysis, including new fine particulate matter (PM2.5) requirements.As part of this process, the permitting team developed an innovative dispersion modeling strategy for demonstrating compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for PM2.5.Implementation of the modeling strategy required running two separate models, writing additional software to merge results from the two models, and obtaining U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval for the modeling methodology.
