People
We currently have 20 energy and climate change professionals collectively averaging more than 20 years of experience, including individuals with degrees in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, architecture, physics, earth science, and economics.  Our team collectively holds professional certifications and licenses as professional engineers, certified energy managers, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professionals, certified energy analysts, and certified energy plans examiners.

Redhorse understands the critical challenges facing customers in effectively managing their energy, water, and other resources.  Limited financial and personnel resources, access to domain expertise, numerous unfunded mandates, and the unprecedented visibility of energy and climate change issues are significant challenges facing virtually every industry.  We excel at integrating and leveraging technical and financial resources to improve performance, optimize limited resources, and drive costs savings and GHG emission reductions to assist government and private sector customers in meeting the challenges of today while reducing the risks and positioning for the opportunities of tomorrow.

  • Energy Management and Renewable Energy:   The Redhorse team has comprehensive energy management and renewable energy capabilities.  Specific areas of expertise include:
    • Resource Efficiency Management (REM):  Providing onsite energy and resource experts to reduce energy consumption, GHG emissions, and operating costs at customer facilities 
    • Strategic Planning:  Analyzing customer operations, policies, and procedures and working with customers to develop clear goals and key performance indicators
    • Energy Auditing:  Conducting preliminary and detailed energy audits to identify and develop energy efficiency and conservation projects 
    • Renewable Energy:  Providing turnkey support for renewable energy systems from initial resource assessment and environmental due diligence to investment grade feasibility studies and system installation 
    • Energy Security:  Working with customers to address the resiliency and sustainment of their energy infrastructure to minimize the loss of mission critical power from natural disaster or acts of terrorism 
  • High Performance Buildings and Operations:  Redhorse consults with customers to develop and implement business solutions that integrate sustainability into the building design and operation process, optimize energy performance, and protect and conserve resources.  Specific areas of expertise include: 
    • Energy Simulation and Modeling:  Conducting whole building energy simulations and modeling to optimize building performance while controlling costs 
    • LEED Consulting and Certification:  Supporting the full life-cycle of green building certification from initial planning and goal setting to documentation and certification submittal for new construction and conducting gap analyses to determine the feasibility and estimated cost of achieving LEED certification for existing buildings
    • Sustainability Audits:  Conducting comprehensive sustainability audits focusing on cost savings through waste reduction, process optimization, and conservation and efficiency improvements across customers’ natural, built, and human assets
  • Water Management:  At Redhorse we assist customers to better use their water resources by applying our expertise in water conservation and efficiency, water accounting, and water reuse and recycling strategies.  Specific areas of expertise include:
    • Water Management Plans:  Developing water action plans and strategies for water conservation, reuse, and recycling in buildings, industrial facilities, process water, and irrigated areas
    • Water Audits:  Conducting water conservation and efficiency audits to identify and develop water conservation measures to reduce water consumption
    • Water Accounting and Leak Detection:  Analyzing existing water usage data, to effectively measure and manage water consumption and identify leaks in water distribution systems, unauthorized water uses, and other unaccounted water losses.
  • Carbon Management:  We tailor carbon management services to each customer to address their specific GHG management needs whether from mandatory regulatory requirements or voluntary sustainable development and corporate social responsibility goals.  Specific areas of expertise include:
    • GHG Emissions Inventories:  Preparing GHG emissions inventories and assisting customers in reporting GHG emissions in accordance with established inventory protocol, while institutionalizing the process of calculating their carbon footprint to meet future reporting requirements
    • GHG Management Plans:  Developing action plans that incorporate GHG management policies, goals, performance metrics, specific initiatives and projects, and timelines 
    • Carbon Accounting and Trading:  Supporting customers in the development of their carbon assets through the identification and development of carbon offset projects 
    • Adaptation Strategies:  Developing strategies to improve the resiliency and adaptive capacity of customer assets in response to the risks posed by climate change to their natural, built, and human assets
